Paros is what Mykonos was twenty years ago: two harbour towns, Naoussa and Parikia, a ring road, a string of beaches, and a summer crowd that is younger, Greek and considerably less interested in being photographed. It is also forty minutes from us by fast ferry, which is why anyone searching for escorts in Paros is really searching for a Mykonos companion who will take the boat. There is very little on the island itself and what there is comes and goes with the season.

Naoussa versus Parikia
Naoussa is the pretty one: a fishing harbour turned into a loop of bars and restaurants around the old Venetian port, busy from sunset until three in summer, and full of Athenian couples in their twenties and thirties. A companion at your table there is entirely ordinary. Parikia is the port town where the ferries land, bigger, cheaper and busier with backpackers; the hotels are more anonymous but the evenings are less charming. Most of our Paros bookings stay in or near Naoussa and eat there.
Hotels
The larger properties on Kolymbithres and Santa Maria beaches outside Naoussa are the simplest: proper receptions, guests arriving at all hours, nobody counting. Inside Naoussa the small hotels on the harbour are lovely and very close-quarters; treat them as places to stay as a couple. In Parikia, the hotels along Livadia beach are relaxed and used to the ferry crowd. Antiparos, across the strait, is quieter still and its handful of hotels notice everything; arrive together.
Crossing from Mykonos
SeaJets and Golden Star fast ferries run Mykonos to Paros several times a day from May to October, forty to fifty minutes. A companion takes the morning boat, arrives at Parikia like any other visitor and stays two nights or more on a day rate, with the ferry cost quoted before you confirm. Same-day is often possible in July and August. Outside the season the fast ferries thin out and a booking usually means a flight from Athens into Paros airport instead, which the office will tell you when you enquire. Evenings on Paros
Dinner in Naoussa: Barbarossa on the harbour if you want to be seen, Siparos at Santa Maria if you do not, Mario for fish at the water. Then the harbour loop, where the bars run from Agosta and Sommaripa Consolato for cocktails to Linardo later. Parikia’s bars along the seafront and in the market street are louder and younger. In the daytime, the beaches on the east coast and a boat to Antiparos are the point of the island, and a companion on a two-day rate is there for those as much as for the evenings.
