The north and the west coast, from Tsilivi up to the shipwreck cove and the blue caves, is quiet, green and full of couples. The villas and small hotels of the north around Agios Nikolaos are for arriving as a couple and staying as one.
Hotels
The Lesante properties at Tsilivi and the larger resorts along the Vassilikos peninsula are well-run, well-staffed and used to guests with company. In Zakynthos town the Strada Marina on the harbour is the business hotel and equally easy. The boutique villas in the north are lovely and small; book them as a couple. Laganas hotels will not care who arrives, but you may not want to be there.
Bringing a companion over
Athens to Zakynthos is fifty minutes with daily flights in season, and the airport sits between town and Laganas. A two-night booking on a day rate is the usual shape, ticket quoted before you confirm, and the Vassilikos peninsula or the west coast make a third day easy to justify. Evenings
Zakynthos town is where the island itself eats: the tavernas around Solomos square and along the waterfront, or Prosilio for something more current. Tsilivi and Argassi have resort restaurants that are fine and forgettable. For a memorable evening drive to the west coast cliffs for sunset at Keri or Kampi, then dinner at a village taverna on the way back. Nightlife means Laganas or nothing; most of our clients choose nothing.
