Almost everyone who books a companion in Mykonos is staying in a hotel, and almost everyone’s first question is some version of the same worry: will this be obvious. It is a reasonable thing to ask and the honest answer is that it is not, provided a few practical things are handled properly. This page sets out what those are.
Hotel outcall is the most common booking format on the island and the one we arrange most often. The mechanics are routine. The parts that occasionally go wrong are logistical: directions, timing, reception policies. All of them are avoidable.
How hotel outcall works
Arrival and reception
A companion arrives at your hotel dressed as a guest, because that is what she looks like. Resort hotels in Mykonos see a constant flow of well-dressed people arriving and leaving at all hours, and one more person walking through a lobby attracts precisely no attention. In the great majority of properties she goes straight to the room without any interaction with staff at all.
Some hotels, typically larger international brands rather than the smaller island properties, operate a policy of registering visitors at reception. Where that applies, it is handled in the ordinary way and is not a problem; it is simply worth knowing in advance rather than discovering at the desk. If you know your hotel does this, mention it when you book.
What we need from you
Four things: the hotel name, the room number, a working phone number, and the time. The room number matters more than people expect. A companion standing in a lobby trying to reach you by phone is the single most conspicuous thing that can happen in an otherwise invisible booking. Give it at the point of booking, not on arrival.
If your property has an unusual entrance, a separate villa block, or a gate code, tell us that too. Several of the larger south-coast resorts are effectively small campuses, and “the hotel” is not a sufficient destination once you are inside the grounds.
Timing
We give arrival windows rather than exact minutes, because Mykonos traffic does not permit precision in season. A twenty-minute window is realistic; a promise of an exact time is not, and anyone offering one is guessing. If the window is going to be missed, you hear from us before it passes rather than afterwards.
Discretion at your hotel
Dress and presentation
This is the part that actually determines whether a booking is discreet, and it is entirely within our control. Companions arrive dressed for the property, which on this island means resort-appropriate rather than evening-club. Tell us where you are staying and the presentation is matched to it. A companion dressed for a beach resort walking into a beach resort is invisible. The same person dressed for an Athens nightclub is not.
Guest policies
Mykonos hotels are, in general, entirely accustomed to guests having visitors, and the island’s hospitality culture is not censorious. Smaller boutique properties tend to be the most relaxed; large chain hotels are the most likely to have a formal visitor policy. Neither presents a practical obstacle. If you are unsure about your property, ask us. We know most of them.
What staff see
A guest returning to the building with a companion, or a well-dressed woman walking through a lobby. That is the whole of it. There is no lingering in reception, no confusion at the desk, and no phone calls from the lobby, provided the room number was given at booking. The bookings that become noticeable are the ones where the details were left until the companion had already arrived.
Areas and travel time
Mykonos Town hotels
Properties in and around Chora are the fastest to reach, frequently within the hour. The pedestrian layout of the old town means a vehicle cannot always reach the door, so a landmark is more useful than a street address. See our Mykonos Town page for the detail.
South-coast resorts
Psarou, Ornos, Platis Gialos and the surrounding resorts are straightforward to reach but slow in August. The Ornos road in particular can add a great deal of time in the early evening. Bookings to this side of the island are entirely routine; they simply need more notice than a booking in town, and we will quote a realistic window rather than an optimistic one.
Remote properties
Hotels and villas on the north side of the island, around Ano Mera, and in the less developed interior are covered, but they need meaningful notice, often several hours in peak season, and may carry a travel charge, which is always stated before you confirm. Directions matter enormously here; rural Mykonos addresses are frequently useless to a driver, and a pinned location sent in advance solves the problem completely.
Booking from abroad before you arrive
Why it is worth doing
Peak-season Mykonos does not reward spontaneity. Between mid-July and the end of August the island’s supply of everything is fully committed: restaurant tables, taxis, hotel rooms, companions. The visitor who decides on the night is the visitor who does not get what they wanted. Contacting us with your dates before you land costs nothing and converts a hopeful enquiry into a confirmed booking.
What to send
Your dates, your hotel or the area you are staying in, roughly what format you have in mind, and any specific requirements such as language. We will come back with what is genuinely available for those dates rather than a general assurance. If nothing suitable is free, we will say so, which is more useful than a maybe.
Confirming closer to the time
An advance enquiry is not a locked commitment for a standard hourly or evening booking. We re-confirm closer to the date, when you know how your trip is actually unfolding. Overnight, multi-day and group bookings do carry a deposit and are firmer arrangements, for the obvious reason that they hold a companion’s entire evening or several days.
Rates for hotel bookings
What is included
The quoted rate covers the companion’s time and her travel to you within the standard coverage area, which includes Chora and the main south-coast resorts. Rates start from around 120-150 EUR per hour, with individual figures shown on each profile. Payment is in cash, in euros, at the start of the booking. Our rates page sets out the full picture including evening and overnight pricing.
Travel
No travel charge applies for the main hotel areas. For remote properties on the north of the island or deep in the interior, one may apply and is quoted before you confirm the booking, never added on arrival.
Common questions
Will the hotel ask questions?
In the great majority of Mykonos properties, no. A companion walks through the lobby as any guest would. Some larger chain hotels register visitors at reception, which is handled routinely. If you know your property does this, mention it when booking so nothing is a surprise.
Do I need to give my room number?
Yes, and at the point of booking rather than on arrival. A companion waiting in a lobby trying to reach you by phone is the one thing that makes an otherwise unremarkable booking noticeable.
How long until she arrives?
In Chora, often within the hour. To the south-coast resorts, longer, and considerably longer in August evening traffic. To remote properties, allow several hours’ notice in peak season. We quote a realistic window and tell you in advance if it will be missed.
Is there a travel charge?
Not for Mykonos Town or the main south-coast hotel areas. For remote properties a charge may apply, and it is always stated before you confirm rather than presented afterwards.
Can I book before I arrive on the island?
Yes, and in peak season you should. Bookings for mid-July through August are best arranged before you land, particularly for weekend nights. Contact us with your dates, your hotel and roughly what you have in mind, and we will tell you honestly what is available.
What if my plans change after I book?
Tell us as early as you can and we will move the booking where availability allows. Times can usually be shifted with reasonable notice. A cancellation a few hours before a booking that carries a deposit is treated differently, because the companion’s evening has already been committed by that point.
Can I book for a room I have not checked into yet?
Yes, but confirm the room number once you have it. Booking in advance against a hotel name is fine; arriving at a booking without the room number is the one avoidable problem in an otherwise routine process.
Can she stay for the whole night?
Yes. Overnight bookings run from the evening through to the following morning and are quoted as a single figure rather than hourly. They require a deposit and meaningful notice, because they remove a companion from availability entirely. In August that means days rather than hours.
What if I am staying in a shared villa or with friends?
Tell us at the enquiry stage that other people will be present. It is not an obstacle and group settings are entirely routine, but it changes who is a good fit. A companion arriving at what she was told was a private booking and finding a house full of people is a booking that ends there, and reasonably so.
